L’appel transnational du JPI AMR Call 2023 “Development of innovative strategies, tools, technologies, and methods for diagnostics and surveillance of antimicrobial resistance” (DISTOMOS) est ouvert.

L’appel est dit transnational car le consortium sera international avec chaque partenaire financé par l’agence de financement nationale/régionale auprès de laquelle il est éligible. Pour les équipes UCLouvain, le bailleur de fonds est le FRS-FNRS.

Thématiques de l'appel

This call aims to improve the treatment of bacterial and fungal infections (including co-infection) and/or the prevention of the emergence/spread of resistance in humans, animals or plants through the improvement of the efficacy, specificity, delivery, combinations and/or repurposing of drugs and plant protection agents.

Proposals should focus on licenced antimicrobial agents (antibiotics/antifungals) or agents under pre-clinical and/or early clinical development, and should address at least one of the following topics:

• Improvement of drug/plant protection agent efficacy and/or specificity through chemical modifications (including hit to lead optimisation)
• Drug/plant protection agent repurposing;
• Optimisation of drug/plant protection agent combinations, alone or with adjunct therapies (including therapeutic vaccines);
• Design and implementation of new strategies (including optimisation of drug doses) for improved application, efficacy and delivery of single or combinations of antimicrobials;
• Design and implementation of innovative tools, including novel chemistry and/or new materials for improved application, efficacy and delivery of antimicrobials.

Proposals can focus on one or more of the three “One-Health” settings, namely:

• Human Health, and/or
• Animal Health (including wildlife, livestock, fishes, and companion animals), and/or
• Plants (including trees and crops)

Règlement FNRS

Les grandes lignes (pour le règlement complet : Règlement-FNRS pour les projets identifiés comme PINT-Multi) :

• Parallèlement à la soumission de la proposition, le FRS-FNRS exige une soumission administrative en ligne via leur outil E-SPACE dès la première étape. Toute non soumission en temps et en heure entrainera la non éligibilité du dossier et donc du consortium international. Cette soumission administrative sur e-space doit avoir été validée dans les 5 jours ouvrables qui suivent la date limite générale de l’appel
• Les entreprises de la FWB ne sont pas financées.
• Financement maximal FRS-FNRS : 200.000 € de financement
• Les frais de personnel : 50 000€ en moyenne annuelle sur la durée du projet (max 150 000€ pour un projet de 3 ans).

• Appel non-co-financé : Les projets durent 3 ans. Néanmoins, si dans le cadre du projet un doctorat est financé, le promoteur du projet a la possibilité d’étaler l’utilisation du budget « personnel » (max. 150,000 EUR) sur une durée du 4 ans afin de permettre au(x) doctorant(s) de finaliser le travail de thèse. Dans ce cas, la dernière année de thèse est imputée au budget du projet.
• Les frais de fonctionnement (dont les frais nécessaires au respect des règles en matières d’accessibilité « open » des publications, et éventuellement des données).
  • 20% maximum de votre budget pour la sous-traitance et les prestations internes
  • Publication d’un article en open access pour un montant maximum de 750 euros (PAS de frais de publication liés au « modèle hybride », c’est-à-dire les frais liés à la mise en open access de publications réalisées dans des journaux « classiques »).
• Les frais d’équipement : jusque 20% de votre budget.
• Les overheads ne sont pas un coût éligible pour le FRS-FNRS.

• Durée d'un projet: max. 36 mois.

This call for proposals is transnational i.e. the consortium shall involve partners from different countries ; each partner will be financed directly by its national/regional funding agency. i.e. FRS-FNRS for UCLouvain.

General information about JPI AMR DISTOMOS 2023

• Pre-proposal submission deadline 07/03/2023 (full proposals: 04/07/2023)
• Consortium: minimum of 3 eligible and independent partners requesting funding from participating funding organisations from at least 3 of the following countries ((including at least two amongst EU Member States or Associated Countries)
• Each partner is funded directly by its regional/national funding agency.
• Participating countries/regions : Australia, Belgium, Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom
• Each national/regional funding agency has its own financial rules.
• Project duration: max. 36 months.

FRS-FNRS Rules

All eligibility rules and criteria can be found in the PINT-MULTI regulations.

!!! Please note Applicants to F.R.S.-FNRS funding must provide basic administrative data by submitting an administrative application on e-space within 5 working days after the general deadline of the call to be eligible. Please select the “PINT-MULTI” funding instrument when creating the administrative application.

• Industrial partners and NGOs from FWB are not eligible for funding by FRS-FNRS.
• The maximum amount of requested funding for partners from FWB is 200.000 EUR for a total period of 3 years
• Personnel costs : max. 50,000EUR on an annual average

• This call is not co-funded : projects last 3 years. However, if the project finances a PhD student (fellowship), the promoter can spread over the PhD personnel budget on a duration of 4 years.
• Operating costs (inclunding costs for « open-access » publications and data)
• Subcontracting is limited to max. 20% of the total budget
• Open access publication : maximum de 750 euros per article
• Equipment is limited to max. 20% of the total budget
• “Overhead” is not an eligible cost.
