L'Université catholique de Louvain entretient des liens privilégiés avec le Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) depuis de nombreuses années. Un des volets de la Chaire internationale d’innovation Lhoist Berghmans consiste à renforcer les collaborations avec cet institut prestigieux dans le domaine des sciences et technologies.
Dans ce cadre, un nouvel accord vient d’être signé. Il permet d’une part à un maximum de 5 étudiants de l’EPL de réaliser un stage dans un laboratoire du MIT ; et d’autre part à un maximum de 5 étudiants du MIT de réaliser un stage dans un laboratoire de l’EPL ou au sein d’une entreprise belge partenaire de l’UCL sur le Parc scientifique. Outre le soutien financier de la Chaire, cet accord a été rendu possible grâce aux collaborations antérieures entre l’UCL et le MIT notamment au travers du Belgium Seed Fund signé en 2011 et renouvelé en juin 2014. La qualité et les résultats des projets financés par ce fond d’amorçage ont justifié le développement d’autres-plateformes de collaboration comme celle-ci.
Ce nouvel accord d’échange est conclu pour une durée de quatre ans renouvelable.
Les étudiants en Master de l’EPL désireux d’en savoir plus sur ce programme d’échange sont invités à venir à la séance d’information sur les mobilités Erasmus et autres qui aura lieu le 10 février prochain à 13h dans l’auditoire BARB 92.
L'EPL and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
The Université catholique de Louvain has developed close links with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for many years. One component of the International Lhoist Berghmans Innovation Chair is to strengthen collaboration with this prestigious institute in the field of science and technology.
In this framework, a new agreement has been signed. It allows on the one hand a maximum of 5 students from EPL to complete an internship in a lab at MIT; and on the other hand a maximum of 5 MIT students to complete an internship in a lab at EPL or in a Belgian company partner of UCL on the Science Park.
In addition to the financial support of the Chair, the agreement was made possible thanks to previous collaborations between UCL and MIT notably through the Belgium Seed Fund signed in 2011 and renewed in June 2014.
The quality and results of projects funded by this seed fund justified the development of other platforms of collaboration such as this one.
This new exchange agreement is concluded for a period of four years renewable.
EPL Master students interested in learning more about this exchange program are invited to come to the information session on Erasmus and other mobilities which will take place on the 10th of February at 13h in the auditorium BARB 92.
