The Louvain School of Management (LSM) inaugurated this 21th October the new data learning room at Louvain-la-Neuve at the BESPO in presence of 75 peoples, the rector Vincent Blondel, the LSM Dean Michel De Wolf, Sebastien Van Bellegem, the ESPO Dean, Jacques Berghmans (the main donator) and the Professor Léonardo Iana.
Thanks to all the sponsors*, the learning room is the only one in Belgium equipped with Bloomberg ® terminals
that will be used for teaching purposes. The integration of Bloomberg ® in the LSM’s study programs will introduce several innovations in teaching, such as special trainings at Bloomberg’s headquarters in London.
Bloomberg is a world leading provider for financial and accountancy data, but also of economics and business data, business reports and insights, news and, educational services.
Bloomberg training rooms are dedicated spaces with PC having access to Bloomberg (so called Bloomberg terminals).
Four terminals will be in Mons and eight in Louvain-la-Neuve
The Bloomberg training rooms are widely used in all of the world leading universities. These terminals will open several possibilities for LSM students and professors:

- CV improvement for our students. Our students will be able to access for free the Bloomberg Market Concept, a certificate developed by Bloomberg. Students’ scores will be stored in a dataset accessible by thousands of companies worldwide.
- Enrich classes with more practical cases in several fields. Teachers will have access to personalized one-on-one training by Bloomberg experts who can help teach students/professors directly in a classroom setting.The Bloomberg terminals can be used in several classes/research areas (outside finance), for example in Supply chain Management, Merger and Acquisition, Accounting and Finance, Business and strategy but also in Marketing, Corporate organisation, etc.
- A rich database for research. Bloomberg provides data, info and reports on companies and industries (see for example description above on supply chain management platform, where it is possible to map companies’ customers, competitors and suppliers).
