Msgr. Jadot Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Faculty of Theology and the Research Institute Religions, Spiritualities, Cultures, Societies (RSCS) of the Catholic University of Louvain, supported by the Sedes Sapientiæ Foundation, offer a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Theology or Bible studies.

The Sedes Sapientiæ Foundation thus offers the possibility of pursuing in-depth research in Christian theology, either in the field of fundamental and dogmatic theology, in that of biblical and historical studies, or in the field of practical theology or theological ethics. The Faculty and the Institute allow a young researcher to work within an international network, with a wide range of seminars, symposia and scientific activities.

Post-doctoral objectives

During the two-year post-doctoral period, the researcher will be accompanied by a professor from the Faculty. His or her research project will result in one or more publications, in the form of monographs or articles, according to a decision taken in agreement with the referent professor and the president of the doctoral commission "Theology". He will also take part in the preparation and facilitation of a symposium in his specialty, during which he will propose a paper.

Amount of the grant and benefits

The monthly amount of the grant (variable according to the administrative situation) is around €2300 (net) per month. The post-doctoral fellowship is tax-exempt, but is subject to the social security of salaried workers. The researcher will of course have access to the libraries of UCLouvain and KU Leuven, and to the databases of UCLouvain.

The candidate must have obtained, within the last 6 years, a doctorate in Theology or Biblical Studies. He must be able to express himself, at least orally, in French.
