Vasiliki Kalavri, who obtained her Ph.D. from KTH (Sweden) and UCL in Oct. 2016 (supervised by Vladimir Vlassov and Peter Van Roy), has been named laureate of the IBM Innovation Award 2017 for an original contribution to computer science. The award comes with a monetary prize of €5000. She will receive the award in a private ceremony at IBM Belgium headquarters on Nov. 20, 2017. Her research topic is "Performance Optimization Techniques and Tools for Distributed Graph Processing".
