Le Dr. William Simpson a reçu le prix Cardinal Mercier 2021 (attribué à John F. Wippel en 1981, et à Nicholas Rescher en 2005) pour sa thèse, "What's the matter ? Toward a neo-Aristotelian Ontology of Nature".
Ce prix récompense des monographies portant sur la métaphysique, la philosophie " première " ou l'ontologie dans leur rapport au monde contemporain, en reconnaissance de la contribution du lauréat à la philosophie internationale.
Il est décerné conjointement par l'Institut Supérieur de Philosophie (ISP) de l'UCLouvain, et le Hoger Instituut Voor Wijsbegeerte (HIW) de la KU Leuven.
William Simpson PhD has been awarded the Cardinal Mercier Prize 2021 (awarded to John F. Wippel in 1981, and to Nicholas Rescher in 2005) for his thesis, "What’s the matter? Toward a neo-Aristotelian Ontology of Nature."
This prize is given for monographs which are related to metaphysics, ‘first’ philosophy, or ontology in their relation to the contemporary world, in recognition of the recipient’s contribution to international philosophy.
It is jointly awarded by the Institut Supérieur de Philosophie (ISP) of UCLouvain, and the Hoger Instituut Voor Wijsbegeerte (HIW) of KU Leuven.
