Shuyuan Han was born in Anhui, China. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree after five-year education, from 2009 to 2014, in the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University. He then received his Master degree in Architecture Design and Theory from the School of Architecture and Urban Planning of Nanjing University in 2017 with His master dissertation on a historical research on “House of Sun Yatsen”, a historical building in Nanjing.

With a deep interest in architectural structures, he has been studying on this topic and won the excellent prize in a design competition of precast concrete structures. He is now studying as a PhD student in the Structures & Technologies LAB in LOCI (UCLouvain’s architecture department) since March 2018 under the guide of Professor Denis Zastavni. His research topic is Design of improved frame structures through operations on graphic statics reciprocal polygons, aiming at creating an interactive design tool for frame structures based on graphic statics theory.
