Content
In the last decade, there has been a proliferation of texts (narrative, poetic, essayistic) that stage and problematize life in the countryside', a field that would have become 'empty' (del Molino) after the massive migrations to the city brought about by the Franco regime. The course aims to put this recent trend in Spanish literature into perspective by presenting a historical overview which, through the analysis of some key texts, highlights the evolution of the representation of Spanish rural life and the literary, social and political implications of such a thematic choice.
Teaching methods
Based on contextual information that students will find in the compulsory readings and synthesize in great part by themselves, the course will articulate analyses of narrative works. Group discussion based on questions previously exchanged will be privileged.
Evaluation methods
Continuous assessment is compulsory and the two written tasks are formatively assessed. The final test is left to the student's choice: either an oral examination or a written assignment.
Other information
Teaching material : Secondary literature linked to the topic of the course. Reading of the selected literary works and of critical studies.
