Main themes

This course provides an introduction to some of the main themes in philosophical anthropology by linking them with the history of philosophy, the development of science and cultural production: freedom, the body, desire and thought. The historical dimension plays just as important a role as the systematic dimension in that the course aims to lead students to a critical examination of the "contemporary status" of the human being.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :
1	By the end of the course, students will have absorbed and be able to deepen their understanding of various major themes in philosophical anthropology using philosophical texts; The course also aims to develop students' ability to analyse, synthesise and transfer information they have been taught through the personal study of an anthropological topic chosen by each student.

Content

This introductory course presents some of the major conceptions of human condition and some of the major themes of philosophical anthropology on the basis of key texts in the history of philosophy. Adopting a historical perspective, it will focus on the question of the relationship between humans and nature.
