Students must have followed LROM 2221 Questions d'histoire de la littérature médiévale (M. Cavagna and C. Storms).
A good knowledge of the basics of Old and Middle French
Main themes
This seminar provides students with foundations in methodology. It will provide in depth study of a precise topic using a corpus of relevant texts. 
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  1. to use bibliographical resources and documentation;
  2. to give evidence of adopting a multidisciplinary point of view;
  3. to write a research question;
  4. to analyse in depth French medieval texts;
  5. to show critical attitude vis a vis text editions and textual variants;
  6. to write an academic text.
 
Content
The proposed theme for 2022-2023 is:
"A 'ménage à trois' ? codicology, literature and... women."
The seminar proposes to study manuscripts held at the KBR from a gender perspective.
Teaching methods
Working sessions and discussion. Preparation is needed .
Evaluation methods
Oral presentation and writing of a personal paper.
The final grade of the examination takes into account
- participation in the seminar sessions (5%)
- Oral presentation of personal work (35%)
- the written work (60%).
The evaluation of the written work takes into account the quality of the language used. A student who has not participated (presence in the "course") on a regular basis (i.e. less than 75% of the hours of the activity) will be refused registration for the seminar examination in application of article 72 of the RGEE.
