Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  • Reproduce sequences of dance movements while respecting the principles of expressive movement (a.o. highlighting the lines of the body, clarity of directions during placements and movements, nuances in energy, expressive effect of gaze, tone and breathing ;). (1.2)
  • Identify and adequately use the non-verbal dimensions of communication (e.g. proxemics, bodily attitude, tone, breathing, gestures, intonation, gaze, etc.) in the expressive complementarity between body and speech (1.2 and 4.3)
  • Demonstrate a sufficient level of performance in dance and expression activities to subsequently tackle the specific teaching of this family of disciplines. (1.2)
 
Content
The objectives will be met through two complementary practical content: - An introduction to dance movement (warm-up and choreography + some creative dance moves) - An introduction to the "body voice"
Evaluation methods
The evaluation aims to measure the achievement of the targeted learning outcomes.
Attendance at this course is required. The course holders may, under Article 72 of the General Regulations for Studies and Examinations, propose to the jury to oppose the registration of a student who has not attended at least 90 % of courses, during the June or September session.
The final score will consist of two integrated parts (dance movement & body-speech). Successful completion of these two parts is essential to demonstrate the skills and knowledge defined in the learning outcomes of the teaching unit. Passing the exam can only be achieved through successful completion of each of the assessment parts/activities.
