Main themes
This learning module is focused on communicative competence. Starting from various types of activities, the communication strategies, and productive, receptive, interactive and mediating skills are developed, taking the B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages as a starting point.
The themes tackled are: SMEs (starting up and management), the interplay between economics and politics, forced migration, illegal migration, inequality, social mobilization, negotiations (with customers and associates), current events in Spanish-speaking countries in conflict, culture (film, music theatre, ...). One unit is devoted to conducting and attending job interviews.

Content
This learning module aims at developing all the language and communication skills entrenched in a communicative, lexical and grammatical approach.
The methodology is very varied and includes carrying out various assignments (written and oral) throughout the course, linked to the themes tackled.

Teaching methods
Grammar is tackled using texts as a starting point (grammar-in-use); interactive classes, role-playing, debates on current events.
The acquisition of vocabulary is implemented using the lexical approach.

Evaluation methods
The assessment is continuous: Partial test, written, on Moodle (in December, last week of Q1): 10% of the final grade.
June
Tests, assignments, presentations, 20% of the final grade.
Final written exam (last week of classes, Q1), grammar / vocabulary / reading comprehension and listening comprehension, written expression: 40% of the final grade.
Individual oral exam: 30% of the final grade. Preparation: presentation of a press kit of 3 articles in Spanish, dealing with the same subject, from 2 different sources (include sources), on a subject that deals with the local, European or global economy, or mentions social and/or sociological issues; social issues, development, ecological transition, etc. Interaction: analysis, stepping back, critical thinking.
IMPORTANT: This is not about coming to read a text in front of the teacher.
You can have a PPT with keywords. You must be able to comment, explain, answer questions, etc.
Vocabulary list of articles, ESPA→FRAN, comprising 20 words (from the articles).
2nd part, without preparation: comment on a current topic, proposed by the teacher, from a series of Spanish-language newspaper headlines.
September
Written exam on Moodle: the same modality as in the June session: grammar / vocabulary / listening comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression: 60% of the final grade.
Individual oral exam: the same modality of the June session, a prepared part (press kit of 3 articles) and an unprepared part: 40% of the final grade.
Important: in September, both parts of the exam must be presented (there is no carryover of grades from the June to September session).
Depending on the health situation, the exams could be done remotely.
