Protection of Monuments and Sites (Immovable Cultural Heritage):
The course first critically addresses the interaction between heritage protection and law. Then, the issue of protecting monuments and sites is analyzed from an international perspective and in terms of the distribution of competencies. Thirdly, it explores in depth the legal framework applicable in the Walloon Region. Finally, emphasis is placed on the existing differences in Brussels law, with brief references to Flemish law and the law of the German-speaking Community.
Non-Rail Terrestrial Roadways:
In terms of non-rail terrestrial roadways, the course examines general issues (distribution of competencies, definitions, creation of public roads, classification, administration: management and police). The course then addresses the specificities of each applicable legal framework (general law regime (major roads), highway regime, municipal road regime).
