The aim of each lesson (2 hours) is to analyse a legal subject in German, by reading legal texts as well as articles from legal doctrine and/or the specialist press on the subject.
The aim is to tackle a variety of subjects (e.g. environment, animal welfare, freedom of expression, space law, etc.).
The course will also include translation and/or drafting exercises involving the use of relevant databases.
Part of each course will be devoted to exercises to familiarise students with the language and the databases.
Depending on their availability, invitations to guest speakers, participation in a German-language hearing or a session of the German-speaking parliament will be organised.
The course is given in German, but the teacher makes sure that the course is accessible to everyone, both in terms of teaching methods and assessment. All students, whatever their command of the language, are therefore welcome to take part in this course, which is designed to be open and inclusive.
