This teaching unit is designed to introduce economic thinking in an overall approach to urban issues, first from a macroeconomic perspective ('urban economics'), then gradually down to microeconomics (economic study of property markers, economic study of buildings).

- the main economic concepts (offer, demand, markets, maximisation etc.). The application of these tools and concepts in the economic theories of locations ("spatial economics") should enable students to discover how the spatial location of economic activity works, what the necessary conditions for economic development are and the role that cities have played in this development.
- building economics by developing the concepts of property value; the ways companies set their prices and techniques for estimating cost in the construction sector.
