Content
The course looks at the specific contextual features of journalistic practices relating to environmental issues (climate change, natural disasters, health crises, etc.). It deals with questions relating to writing, narratives, formats, journalistic genres and editorial strategies adapted to these issues.
Teaching methods
The course will alternate between oral presentations by recognised external speakers and lecturers, and work in a flipped classroom based on social science research (journalism studies) carried out by the students.
There will also be Q&A sessions and debates between students, lecturers and teachers.
Evaluation methods
Continuous assessment of participation in course activities (preparation of texts and attendance at and participation in group discussion sessions): 30% of final grade. Completion of a piece of work, alone or in pairs, to be submitted by the end of the semester (70% of the final mark).
For the second session, the assessment mark for attendance at course activities is retained. The student completes individually any work that has not been passed.
Other information
All the relevant information on these procedures and on how the activities will be carried out (timetable, detailed instructions, assessment criteria, etc.) will be presented during the first session and will be available on Moodle.
Some resources (e.g. bibliographical resources or explanatory videos) will be available in English.
Online resources
Online resources will be specified throughout the semester on Moodle according to the direction taken by the course.
