This course addresses students with a good command of Latin
Main themes
The course includes the following topics:
- Introduction to codicology;
- Handwritten copy of Latin texts and textual transmission issues;
- Ancient and medieval Latin writings;
- Practical training in reading Latin manuscripts (reading exercices);
- Theoretical and practical training in editing Latin texts.

Content
The seminar focuses on Latin paleography and methods of critical editing and textual criticism.
The seminar is primarily practical: students will learn how to read medieval manuscripts and edit a medieval text critically.
The course is divided into two phases: the first consists of a theoretical lecture, the second of practical exercises.
