Content
The economy of great empires (late 13th-late 15th c.)
The aim is to present and compare the economic driving forces behind the vast areas that came into closer contact with each other at the end of the Middle Ages, helping to shape today's world. Europe will not be forgotten (Hanseatic League, Portuguese Empire), but the spotlight will be on Koubilaï's China, Lankan Moussa's Mali, the Delhi Sultanate and the Ottoman, Japanese, Aztec and Inca empires. A sketch of world history, in short, in the wake of gold and, above all, spices.
