Contribution of teaching unit to learning outcomes assigned to programme With regard to the learning outcomes assigned to the Master's programme in Interpreting, this teaching unit contributes to the development and acquisition of the following goals: 2.1, 2.3, 3.3, 6.4 On completion of this course the student will be able to: - Deploy analytical methods and comprehension techniques and demonstrate the capacity to digest information in rapidly decoding the content of a text drafted in Language C and rendering it fluently in Language A; - Practise theory-informed transposition techniques to perfection - Detect underlying socio-cultural references in a text and render them appropriately in Language A; - Demonstrate flexibility and mental acuity in adapting without hesitation to novel communicative situations; |

Sight translation of short press articles about different topics in the news.
Teaching methods
Attendance classes. Practical sight translation exercices in order to improve and train prompt linguistic transfer and eyesight technique.
Evaluation methods
During the term: formative assessment of the student's work.
January and August/September exam sessions: summative assessment in the form of a sight translation, to be done individually.
