This seminar is part of the scientific supervision provided by the dissertation supervisor and is aimed at ensuring student autonomy in the writing of their dissertation. It allows students to assess their progress in their research and enables the supervisor to offer feedback and advice.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |
1 | Define a relevant research project in the framework of the Master's dissertation. |
2 | Master the chief methods of collecting and treating data. |
3 | Fittingly use epistemological, methodological and editorial propositions in the framework of the Master's dissertation. |
Content
Introduction to specific methodologies according to the chosen discipline.
Teaching methods
Students should contact their supervisors. The differences between the disciplines and topics taught in LING imply that the teaching methods depend on the topic of the dissertation. The supervisors may organize traditional seminars or offer one-on-one encounters with the students.
Evaluation methods
Validation of LING2891 is granted in the first year provided that the student writes a state of the art chapter with a reference list (min. 25 entries).
Other information
Students should look into and carefully examine previous dissertations. The chosen supervisor will guide the student.
