The topics covered during the course include:
- Prominent approaches to couple therapy (e.g., Behavioral; emotion-focused; psychodynamic; and systemic)
- Applications of of couple therapy to intimate partner violence and infidelity
- Divorce and separation therapy
- Clinical research methodology
Teaching methods
The lectures will be face-to-face. If the health situation related to COVID has deteriorated, other options will be considered.
Attendance at the course is strongly recommended as it is an interactive course with exercises to be carried out.

- Prof. T. Kohut will be speaking in English while using French course slides.
- The standard exam for Prof. T. Kohut is a written exam in French. However, international students taking this course can request to be tested in English instead.
- Group presentations are expected to be in French.
Evaluation methods
The assessment includes a written MCQ exam and/or open questions (75% of the grade). Students will also be asked to complete group work that will be presented in class (25% of the grade).
Every student must contribute to the group assignments. If it comes to my attention that a student is not contributing sufficiently to their group assignment, I reserve the right to apply a penalty ranging from 0%-100% to that student's group assignment grade.
