Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 confront him/herself in a personal and critical way with the topic of the course.

2 argue his/her position, showing that he/she is conscious of the complexity of the questions at stake, also when confronted with various philosophical and religious traditions.

3 clarify the fundamental categories of reflection on ethics and to show how these notions stand out when confronted with the experience of faith and with Christian reflection.

Content
The teacher will present the basic principles of ethical reflection and its relationship to the Christian faith.
Through concepts such as freedom, conscience, human person, among others, the teacher will present various ethical approaches to assess situations where individuals are confronted with conflicts of values and that require ethical reflection. In our plural world, making an ethical decision means being open to different religious, cultural and social positions, to avoid adopting a moralizing and unilateral discourse.
