Teaching in the uro-nephrology sector takes the form of theoretical and clinical auditorium courses, covering the most common pathologies and diagnostic procedures in these disciplines:
- Nephrology: Diagnostic procedures in nephrology - Chronic kidney disease - Kidney and diabetes - Kidney and hypertension - Renovascular, glomerular and interstitial diseases - Genetic kidney diseases - Urolithiasis - Kidney and pregnancy - Acute kidney injury - Renal replacement therapy (dialysis and renal transplantation).
- Urology: Introduction (examination methods) - Congenital malformations - Functional problems in urology: micturition disorders and erectile dysfunction - Urogenital tumors (benign prostatic hypertrophy, urothelial tumors, renal cell carcinoma, prostate carcinoma, testicular cancers, Tumors in children) – Disorders of the genital tract.
- Pediatric nephrology: semiology; nephrotic syndrome; urinary tract infections and pyelonephritis; acute kidney injury; chronic kidney disease; inherited kidney disease – in children.
- Imaging: illustration of major lesions of urogenital tract with specific indications and limits of each test to prepare the future physician to the optimal use of medical imaging and its prescription.
- Pathology: provides the essential tools to establish relationships between macroscopic and microscopic aspects of lesions and their clinical manifestations.
Evaluation methods
Assessment of learning outcomes and ability to solve clinical problems at the end of the course. Assessment is based on multiple-choice questions and/or questions with short open answers.
