Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

• to translate (at sight) a Chinese text while respecting the meaning, the author's intention, the register, the style and the context of the original text.
 
Content
Reading, contextualization and translation of the text. The text can deal with various subjects but it generally concerns questions of the commercial and politico-social domains. The correction is made during the course, it includes the good proposals (it is explained why these proposals are acceptable) and the bad ones (it is also explained why these proposals are not).
Teaching methods
Explanation of the concepts of translation, examples and exercises done and corrected in class.
Evaluation methods
A written exam at the end of the semester; this exam consists of the translation of a Chinese text of an A4 page of + - 20 lines into French, the duration of the test is two hours.
