Content
Consecutive interpreting:
Liaison interpreting
For both types of interpreting:
- theoretical highlights
- practical exercises to train memory and linguistic transfer into the A language
Liaison interpreting
- Managing bilingual communication interpreting both ways (from Spanish into French and French into Spanish)
For both types of interpreting:
- Introduction to how to prepare for an interpreting assignment
- summarizing exercises, memory exercises, interpreting exercises in language laboratory
- study of reference sentences
Teaching methods
Practical interactive training, role playing, simulations in language lab and on site. Research homework on Spain main characters and culture
Evaluation methods
To obtain the credits of this unit, the student will have to take the two parts of the exam and have submitted the assignments during the term according to the instructions given
Certifying assessment in the form of an oral exam on a subject similar to those seen in class:
- Consecutive interpreting (70%) and
- formative assessment for Liaison interpreting (30%) on the basis of an active participation in sessions and assessment of recordings of those sessions.
The student shall attend the classes and unjustified absence to more than 2 sessions will automatically imply that he or she will not be authorized to take the exam. Not delivering the works (presentations) on time without justification will also mean that the student will not be allowed to take the exam.
August examination in case he/she fails in June will include a preparatory work and an oral exam (2 parts) on a given subject.
