In the context of a world undergoing ecological transition and the increasing scarcity of material resources in construction, this internship aims to immerse students in a specific construction process.
Learning activity: internship in an authentic socio-professional environment & production of a technical-constructive report related to the learning activity.

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Specific Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
  • Appreciate the practical aspects of building sites in all their complexity and potential in terms of implementation, feasibility and organization,
  • Place the practical aspect of the building site at the core of your architectural training, and be able to integrate this experience into your project design,
  • Gain familiarity with the logistical, organizational, and procedural circuits involved in the act of building,
  • Carry out a construction project based on an unfamiliar (to the student) or even innovative methodology, and break down the construction process,
  • Identify the technical and theoretical knowledge integrated into this implementation process and situate the social, economic and material issues at stake in a ‘world in transition’,
  • Integrate and interact with a site team (workers & managers) and determine their reality (working environment, knowledge, understanding of systems and processes, etc.),
  • Write critically and reflectively about the challenges of innovation in construction processes in the face of real-life situations.

In line with the program’s learning outcomes (LOs), this course contributes to the development and acquisition of the following LOs:
  • LO3.2 Acquire and explain the construction and technical processes related to architecture.
