Prerequisites
Baccalaureate courses in bioengineering or exact sciences, particularly general and plant biology, ecology, earth sciences. Bioengineering master courses: plant production, agrarian systems. Other desired courses: soil sciences, biosphere engineering, systems analysis.

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |

Part A: Field crops and market gardening in temperate regions
- Lectures: Sustainable agriculture and innovative systems: organic farming, conservation agriculture, agroecology. Crop rotation, tillage and sowing, organic and mineral fertilisation, input reduction, ecological requirements and crop cycles, plant protection (weeds, diseases, pests), harvesting, environmental impact- Interactive classes: Group activities using agricultural serious games
- Farm classes: On-site classes at the Corroy University Farm, field tours, crop visits
- Excursions: visits to farms (organic and conservation agriculture)
Partim B: tropical crops
- Lectures: Cropping systems and main agricultural production in tropical regions; innovative systems and sustainable agriculture; food crops; perennial crops; tropical smallholder agriculture. Intercropping; agroforestry, conservation agriculturePartim C: Fruit crops in temperate regions
- Lectures: Horticultural techniques in fruit growing (cuttings, grafting, layering); physiology of growth, flowering and fruiting; cropping systems- Excursion: sustainable development; organic farming, integrated pest management

Lectures, largely illustrated with photos and diagrams, visits to agricultural service websites (warnings, manuring advice), direct observation of engine parts, groups activities, on farm classes
