Content
NB: teaching will be in French. This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive and critical understanding of development project and policy management. It is structured around the key stages of the project cycle: identification, planning, implementation, monitoring/evaluation, and adaptation. Particular emphasis is placed on tools and methods, encouraging reflection on their advantages and limitations depending on the social and political context. The course draws on various case studies and fosters students’ own use of these tools.
While its contents are relevant in any setting, the course will primarily refer to the projects and programs of NGOs and bilateral and multilateral development agencies in the Global South.

Teaching methods
The teaching consists of lectures and practical sessions. For each lecture, as well as for the final exam, students are required to read in advance the “essential reading” for the session, available on Moodle. The “general resources” are textbooks that provide useful complements to the course. The “other bibliographic resources” are additional readings for students who wish to explore certain topics in greater depth.
Evaluation methods
Assessment will take the form of a written final exam.
Other information
As part of the assessment for this course unit, the use of artificial intelligence is prohibited, whether as a language assistant, an exploration and ideation tool, or a writing tool.
Online resources
All resources (syllabus, readings, etc.) are available on Moodle.
