  • The concept and forms of entrepreneurship in sport,
  • The key stages in setting up a business through presentations and lectures,
  • The key elements and stages in drawing up a business plan and a financial plan,
  • The entrepreneurial process and strategies (analysis of the environment, market research, definition of a competitive advantage, value creation, strategic capacity),
  • The legal aspects of setting up a business (forms and formalities for setting up a company, access to the profession, intellectual property, contract law, tax law, employment law),
  • The financial aspects of setting up a business (fundamental principles of accounting, methods of financing businesses at different stages of their development, forms of support and public aid),
  • Analysis of a sports company.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  • Explain and identify the key stages in setting up a business (1.1., 1.2.)
  • Explain and analyse a business and financial plan (1.1., 1.2., 1.5).
  • Explain and analyse the importance of the economic aspects of entrepreneurship (1.1., 1.2., 1.5)
  • Explain and analyse the importance of the legal aspects of setting up a business (1.1., 1.2., 1.5, 7.4)
  • Explain and analyse the financial aspects of entrepreneurship (1.1., 1.2., 1.5).
  • Communicate in front of an audience and be able to formulate and defend one's opinion in a group situation (4.1., 4.3., 4.4.).
  • Work as part of a team (5.3, 5.4.).
  • Analyse and present to an audience a sports company as a whole and an issue related to that company (1.1., 1.2., 1.5., 4.1., 4.3., 4.4.).

This course is reserved for FSM students. Access is possible to other UCLouvain students on the basis of an application to be submitted to the course coordinator.
