Main themes
The following themes will be addressed through the theoretical course, the intervention of experts
and case studies leading to an action plan:
  • Sport development models such as SPLISS, HPSF/HEPA/HPSC, LTAD, ARTN, FTEM, etc.
  • The principles and stages of project management
  • Interdisciplinarity in sport science practice and research
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  • Identify and explain the main components of a sport development model (1.1, 1.2, 1.4.).
  • Recognise and illustrate interdisciplinarity in sport development (1.1, 1.2, 1.4., 1.5., 3.4., 5.1.).
  • Apply knowledge based on sport development models to analyse an issue in the Belgian sport context (1.1, 1.2, 1.4., 1.5.).
  • Recommend interdisciplinary courses of action and formulate a strategy to resolve the problems identified in the case studied (1.5., 1.6.,1.11, 3.3., 3.4.).
  • Communicate appropriately in writing and in front of an audience (4.1., 4.2., 4.3., 4.5).
  • Formulate and defend your opinion in a group situation (5.1., 5.2., 5.3., 5.4.).
  • Work in a team and manage a project (5.1., 5.2., 5.3., 5.4., 6.1., 6.2., 6.3., 6.4.)
