Main themes
The course intends to take students to a deeper level of understanding of contemporary sport issues. This does not mean that the course follows the agenda of the media on a day-to-day basis, rather that experts introduce students to diverse scientific perspectives on managing contemporary sport issues such as
  • The governance of European sport and other sport models
  • Player contract negotiations and player logistics
  • The ethics of managing sport like doping, safesport, ...
  • Diversity and inclusion in sport (gender, race, disability, social, LGBTQI+,…)
  • Sport Analytics
  • Digitalisation of sport organizations
  • Sport Diplomacy
  • e sport
  • Well-being and mental health management strategies within sport environments
  • Sport for development and peaceSport for development and peace
  • Corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and community relations in sport
  • Seminar topics and outline will be available in due course before the semester starts.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  • Explain the topics presented at conferences/seminars (1.1)
  • Integrate the knowledge gained from the topics presented at conferences into their professional practice. (1.1 and 1.2 .., 1.5., 4.1 .., 7.2., 7.3)
