Prerequisites

To follow this teaching unit, the student must also be registered for teaching unit LEISS 2902: Introduction to research in education (S4) and teaching unit LEPHY2238: Dissertation support seminar

Main themes

Pursuant to Decree 2021, Article 24, §3, "the final project must be structured around at least two of the training areas defined in the preceding paragraph, including the area of training in and through research in education and didactics."
§4 specifies that the final project must be "linked to an action research or collaborative research process."

Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :
.	To produce original scientific work incorporating various aspects of their training; to draw on scientific literature to formulate and address a research question; to relate scientific literature to professional situations and practices; rigorously implement one or more research methods (interviews, questionnaire surveys, teaching tests, experimental situations, observation, literature reviews, etc.) depending on the type of thesis chosen; discuss the ethical issues of the topic addressed and their research approach.

Content

The dissertation (15 credits) to be completed at the end of a master's degree in teaching (section 4) is an independent work by the student (or a pair of two students).

Evaluation methods

The dissertation, which can be completed in pairs with another student, will be the subject of a written production, the terms of which will be defined with the supervisors, and an oral presentation before a jury.
