Co-requisites: To enroll in this Teaching Unit, the student must also be registered for LEISS2902: Introduction to Research in Education (S4) and LGLOR2930: Mémoire en Langues anciennes. 
Main themes
The aim of this course is to support students in the construction and production of their dissertation. Theoretical, methodological and ethical proposals and guidelines are developed to support students in the production of their dissertation. 
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Contribution of the teaching unit to the programme competency framework  
This teaching unit contributes to the development and acquisition of the following AA.  
4° The skills of the reflective practitioner.   
These skills are reflected in the following abilities:  
a) read critically the results of scientific research in education and didactics and draw on them for their teaching activities as well as drawing on various disciplines in the human sciences to analyse and act in professional situations;  
b) carry out, individually and with his/her peers, a critical and rigorous observation and analysis of his/her own practices and their impact on pupils in order to regulate his/her teaching and develop the strategies and conditions for implementing them with a view to effectiveness and equity;  
c) gradually build up their professional identity, in particular by using personal professional development tools such as the portfolio. 
Specific learning outcomes at the end of the course   
By the end of this course, students will be able to :  
  • explain the research problem which is the subject of their dissertation;  
  • justify the methodological choices made in the dissertation;   
  • highlight the interest of the dissertation in relation to the existing scientific literature on the subject;  
  • relate the dissertation to situations and issues linked to professional teaching practice.
