Main themes
The seminar on preventive conservation and enhancement of movable heritage is designed to develop a shared understanding of cross-disciplinary issues, drawing on the skills acquired by students during their training, and possibly in conjunction with internship experiences.
The various fields covered by movable heritage can be tackled: relief arts, textile arts, metal arts, furniture, glass and ceramics. These fields can be explored through materials and techniques, through styles, but also through uses, functions and meanings. They can be approached both from a preventive conservation perspective, envisaging all measures and actions aimed at preventing or minimizing future deterioration of the object, and from a perspective of enhancing the value of this heritage, implying specific and appropriate management policies.
