Main themes
The main goal of this course is to provide students with a series of basic knowledge blocks, to give them a top-down view of speech processing. Instead of entering the details of each problem, we give a structured overview of the area. In that respect, the course is aimed at making students able to pass a technical job interview.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 At the end of the course, the student will be able to understand the basic concepts of speech processing;
 
2 Discuss the performances of speech processing applications (as well for speech synthesis applications as for voice recognition applications).
 
Content
The course is composed of 4 chapters : Introduction to signal and speech; Speech modeling, analysis and coding; Speech recognition; Speech synthesis.
Teaching methods
The course is taught exclusively in person, allowing students to ask questions of the instructor and vice versa. Attendance is essential for proper assimilation of the material.
Evaluation methods
The written examination will be based on these objectives. No course notes will be available for this examination.
