Co-requisites: To enroll in this Teaching Unit, the student must also be registered for LEISS2902: Initiation à la recherche en éducation (S4) and for LMOD2910 : Séminaire d’accompagnement du mémoire. 
Main themes
Pursuant to Decree 2021, Article 24, §3, "the final thesis is structured around at least two of the training axes defined in the previous paragraph, including the axis of training in and through research in education and didactics." §4 specifies that the final thesis must be "aligned with an action research or collaborative research process."
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

  1. Conduct an original scientific study in language didactics, integrating various learning outcomes from the programme.
  2. Rely on scientific literature to formulate and address a research question.
  3. Establish connections between scientific literature and professional situations and practices.
  4. Implement one or more research methods rigorously (interviews, questionnaire surveys, didactic assessments, experimental situations, observation, literature review, etc.), depending on the type of thesis chosen.
  5. Discuss the ethical issues related to the research topic and approach.
  6. Write and defend the thesis in one of the two languages studied within the framework of the Master's in Teaching.
