Content
The course aims to equip students with the tools they need to construct their master thesis project. With this in mind, it focuses on teaching students how to structure their master thesis, in particular by defining the scope of their research, conducting exploratory interviews with resource persons, reading scientific texts related to their dissertation project, and planning the stages of its completion.
    Teaching methods
The objective of the course is to help students formulate their dissertation project so that they can begin working on it as soon as possible.
The ‘Thesis Sheet’ document is gradually developed throughout the year, with the help of:
    1.  Group presentations on the epistemological and methodological elements related to the completion of the thesis,
    2. Disciplinary and methodological workshops (particularly during the thesis day),
    3. Peer supervision between students,
    4. - Individualised supervision
    Evaluation methods
Preparation of a thesis proposal detailing the thesis project and the steps that led to its development. The thesis proposal will follow a template provided by the lecturer.
The assessment aims to measure the achievement of the targeted learning outcomes. Preparatory exercises and regular formative feedback on the progress of the sheet are provided throughout the year.
The assessment consists of two integrated marks:
Meeting the deadlines for submitting interim documents (4/20). Progressive development of the thesis outline as part of the learning process.
Quality of the final thesis project (16/20).
If the final version of the thesis outline is insufficient, the student must resubmit the outline in the August session. The revised thesis must be submitted on Moodle no later than 17/08/2024.
    AI usage guidelines
Students are asked to complete a sworn statement regarding the referencing and use of AI in the preamble to their thesis. When using artificial intelligence tools (e.g. translation, transcription, search engines), students must do so in a responsible and transparent manner (see ESPO note of July 2024). Furthermore, sources of information must be systematically cited in accordance with bibliographic referencing standards. Students remain responsible for the content of their work, regardless of the tools used.
Prohibited practices: (1) Presenting AI output as one's own and copying word for word without fully citing the source (quotation, referencing) of any AI-generated material. (2) Using information provided by AI without cross-checking it with other sources.
