Content
Taking as its starting point the current international system (the configuration of current international relations, as perceived), the course places it in the context of the progress made since 1989. In particular, it examines (a) the state of the international “system” at a time of relative decline for the United States, (b) the crisis of the liberal international order (UN, international regimes, international law), (c) the upheavals brought about by globalization and its future, (d) the consequences of the return of high-intensity warfare in Europe, and (e) the Middle East crisis zone.
