Main themes
This seminar adopts a multidisciplinary approach and is jointly led by two faculty members, each representing a distinct academic discipline—sociology and law. Its primary objective is to enable students to understand and analyze a situation related to the world of work by integrating the theoretical insights and methodological tools specific to each discipline. The seminar topic is selected collaboratively by the instructors on an annual basis (e.g., remote work, employability, etc.). For the academic year 2025–2026, the chosen theme is “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the World of Work.”

Particular emphasis will be placed on integrating theoretical frameworks and methodological approaches from sociology and law. Students will develop the capacity to apprehend the complexity of social realities, including areas of interdependence, coherence, and contradiction—both within their fieldwork and at the intersection of the disciplines employed. Ultimately, they will investigate the underlying factors that shape these interdependencies and will be expected to produce a structured, well-reasoned, and critically reflective analysis, both individually and collectively, by the conclusion of the seminar. |
