Content
- Linear equations in linear algebra
- Linear programming
- Matrix algebra
- Determinants
- Vector spaces
- Eigenvalues and eigenvectors
- Orthogonality and least squares
- Symmetric matrices and quadratic forms
Teaching methods
All chapters of the course, with the exception of the one covering linear programming, are based on the textbook: Linear Algebra and Its Applications (Algèbre linéaire et applications) by David Lay, Pearson, 2012. In principle, the book will be available at the campus print shop (reprography service).
The reference textbook contains a vast number of examples and exercises, some of which include solutions. Students are expected to engage in independent study to thoroughly read and master the book's material.

Evaluation methods
At the end of the semester, a paper exam will be held. The exam is closed-book. A formula sheet, also available on the course's Moodle page, will be provided during the exam. The same conditions apply to the second exam session (resits).
The exam will include basic knowledge questions, cross-cutting questions, and exercises similar to those completed in class sessions. Most often, theory and practice are intertwined within the questions.
The use of artificial intelligence during the assessment is strictly prohibited.
