Evaluation methods
- Written examination on the ‘theory’ section, held in a closed-book format (50% of mark)
- Written examination involving the solution of exercises on the ‘exercises’ section, using a personalised handwritten form of no more than 10 pages (50% of mark).
- The personalised form must be handwritten on A4 paper (maximum 5 sheets, double-sided). This sheet must be personal (no copies), handwritten (on paper or a tablet) and must not contain any photographed images (screenshots of the course, diagrams or schematics). If the sheet has been created on a tablet or PC, it must be printed on paper.
- Exam marks will be available for viewing on Gradescope for one week, starting from the date of publication.
- By default, any student who has passed one of the two parts of the exam (theory or exercises) with an unrounded mark of 10/20 or above is exempt from retaking that part during the same academic year. If a student nevertheless wishes to retake the part they have passed, they must submit an explicit request to do so before 15 August of the relevant academic year, using the form available on the course’s Moodle site.
- The use of AI is not permitted, either in the practical exam or in the theory exam.
