Content
This course addresses the evolution and diversity of non-vertebrate animals. After an introduction on the protists, it reviews clades resulting from animal evolution (porifers, cnidarians, platyhelminthes, rotifers, nematodes, molluscs, and arthropods).

Practical work including dissections and observations of biological material under the microscope.

Evaluation methods
Continuous assessment during practical sessions: 30% of the final grade, with no resit opportunity.
Open-book theoretical oral examination: 30% of the final grade, with the possibility of retaking the exam during the third examination session.
Practical oral examination: 40% of the final grade, with the possibility of retaking the exam during the third examination session.
A passing grade in either the practical or the theoretical component obtained in January may be carried forward to August for that component, should the student wish to do so.
