1 This activity aims to develop knowledge about marine organisms and their environment.

Content
Students work in teams on a topic related to marine ecosystems.
As an initial assignment, they conduct a critical analysis of a comparable piece of work generated by artificial intelligence. The weaknesses and limitations identified in the AI-generated content are discussed in an oral presentation delivered during the semester.
The teams subsequently work autonomously on their chosen topic and are invited to present updates on the progress of their project.
The written report is due at the end of Week 11. In Week 13, students give an oral presentation of their work to the entire group of participants
Teaching methods
Continuous support and guidance of the teams throughout the semester.
Activities include both in person sessions and independent work.
Evaluation methods
Assessment
Assessment will consist of two components:
  • Critical analysis of an AI-generated output: 5%
  • Written report: 35%
  • Oral presentation and discussion: 60%, divided as follows:
    • Group presentation grade: 20%
    • Individual presentation grade: 20%
    • Individual grade for responses to questions: 20%
The group grades awarded for the AI analysis and the written report will be adjusted using an individual participation coefficient derived from peer assessment through the Dynamo system.
Attendance and participation in the presentations are mandatory.
Bonus points (up to +2 points) may be awarded for particularly active participation during the presentation sessions.
Oral Presentation Format
  • A 20-minute PowerPoint presentation by each group.
  • A 20-minute question-and-answer session involving fellow students and instructors.
  • The presentations will follow a mini-symposium format, with all groups presenting on the same day.
  • Attendance is mandatory for all students.
  • Active participation in the question-and-answer sessions will be taken into account in the final assessment.
  • Final grades will be calculated using a weighting coefficient generated through the Dynamo peer-assessment system.
