Main themes
The theme varies annually, from purely demographic issues to broader social sciences or health issues. Among themes we can mention " Reproductive health in the North and in the South. From knowledge to action ", " The history of Belgium's population and its territories ". The conference is organized by different teams, gathering professors and researchers of the Institute of demog-raphy, of other faculty members of the UCLouvain, other Belgian or foreign universities, working in the related research field.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1. Acquire an in depth vision of the progress achieved in knowledge and methods in a specific research field ;
 
2. Be able to write a paper on or make an oral synthesis of a selection of contributions ;
 
3. Meet international specialists in the related fields.
 
Content
The Chaire Quetelet is an annual conference that changes topic each year.

Evaluation methods
Assessemnet based on personal dissertation (30% of the grade) and and oral presentation (70% of the grade) requested in the frame of the seminars DEMO 2160.
In the second examination session, the exam will involve revising the assignment and the oral presentation based on the individual feedback received during the copy viewing session (only possible on a single date communicated by the student secretariat).
The professor may propose to the jury to refuse the registration for the assessment of any student who has not regularly attended the seminar presentation session in October and the Quetelet conference in November (an attendance sheet signed in person).
In this course, the use of AI is prohibited.
