Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

Acquisition par les étudiants des bases de la linguistique allemande dans les domaines phonologique et morphologique, ainsi que de l'aptitude à comprendre les règles de fonctionnement propres à la langue allemande dans ces domaines.
 
Content
The studies will be accompanied by exercises in linguistic argumentation. The students begin to read literature on linguistics (phonetics/phonology, morphology, syntax); and they begin to develop linguistic analyses and to evaluate linguistic argumentation with respect to phonetics/phonology, and morphology. Phonetics/Phonology: German consonants and German vowels, International phonetic alphabet for German (Transcriptions), phonemes, phonological rules of German, basic concepts of linear and non-linear phonology, rule ordering, syllables. Morphology: Categories of words, morphemes, morphological processes (derivation, inflection, composition), lexical semantics. Evaluation methods
The evaluation procedure consists of a general written examination (in German) in the examination session following the course. This exam will count for 100% of the final grade.
