Prerequisites
Solid knowledge of Spanish linguistics. Consolidated B2 level in Spanish. Basic knowledge of the didactics of Spanish as a foreign language and/or the didactics of foreign languages.
Main themes
This course will focus on research conducted on a phenomenon related to teaching Spanish as a foreign language, as well as on how to integrate the results of this research into lessons. It thus aims to deepen knowledge of teaching Spanish as a foreign language through the lens of evidence-based teaching.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to : | |

Content
The course will focus on a specific phenomenon related to the didactics of Spanish, which will be adapted according to on-going projects. Students will contribute to research on this phenomenon and design a teaching method based on the results of this research.
Teaching methods
The course will take the form of a seminar. Students will be required to prepare the reading of several articles and will take part in collaborative research (often international), including the collection and/or analysis of data concerning learning and/or teaching of a specific phenomenon in Spanish as a foreign language.
Evaluation methods
The course will be assessed in a continous manner. It will be based on class participation (20%), the analysis carried out (50%) and the creation of a didactic material based on these analyses (30%). The assessment will therefore be partly continuous.
For the September session, the assessment will focus on the analysis carried out (60%) and the creation of a didactic material based on these analyses (40%).

In all tasks and activities related to this course, students must comply with the Guidelines of the École de Langues et Lettres (Lignes directrices pour une utilisation responsable des outils d’intelligence artificielle générative). More specifically, any use of artificial intelligence tools within the context of this course must be limited to the moderate level (level 2) of the grid presented in Grille des usages de l’intelligence artificielle générative, which completes the guidelines. Students must therefore fill out the declaration on the use of generative AI provided in the guidelines. Failure to comply with this instruction may result in a mark of less than 10/20 for the relevant parts of the evaluation.
In case of non-compliance with the relevant rules, the examination board will take the measures set out in section 6 of the Lignes directrices pour une utilisation responsable des outils d’intelligence artificielle générative.
More generally, students must comply with the "Règlement général des évaluations des études et des examens" (RGEE) of the UCLouvain, in particular with regard to irregularities and plagiarism (Article 107 of the RGEE).
