Content
The following topics will be covered during the support seminars:
Each student's professional situation will be analyzed by the academic internship coordinator (considering factors such as seniority, number of geography teaching hours, and target student group). A site visit will be conducted to assess the student's skills; based on this assessment, the number of additional internship hours to be completed at a different school—under the supervision of an internship mentor approved by UCLouvain—will be determined.
- Internship formalities, expectations, and assessment (handbook/guide)
- Teacher identity (perceptions of the profession, etc.)
- Preparing for classroom observation (focusing on Bucheton’s professional practices/techniques)
- Preparing for observation outside the classroom (class councils, parent-teacher meetings, etc.)
- Analysis of practices – pedagogical, didactic, relational, social, and organizational dimensions – including video analysis (Néopass) and self-assessment of didactic and pedagogical skills
- Critique of textbooks, websites, and online lesson sequences
- Practical training workshop (preparing lesson sequences and improving sequences taught during the internship)
- Reflective stance (feedback sessions and analysis of critical situations)
- This course unit also includes an internship to be completed in the "transition" and "qualifying" streams of secondary education. During the internship, the student-intern must incorporate the use of digital tools (a topic covered in the Geography Didactics course unit).

Evaluation methods
Students in this course are assessed in several ways:
Given the teaching methods and assessment modes adopted, regular attendance at teaching activities is mandatory. Missing more than three consecutive activities or a total of five activities will be considered irregular attendance. Pursuant to Article 72 of the Examination and Study Regulations, the course instructor reserves the right to ask the examination board to deny a student registration for the exam associated with this course unit if their attendance has been irregular.
- continuous assessment based on assignments and presentations completed during seminars (40% of the final grade). This component applies to every exam session and cannot be retaken;
- an oral exam in which the student presents their internship report, following the guidelines outlined in the seminar (40% of the final grade);
- the observation internship report, to be submitted at the end of the second semester (20%).
