Main themes
The themes developped during the seminar change each year and aim to reflect the multi and interdisciplinary nature of egyptology, as well as its challenges in today’s world. The seminar enables the students to deepen their knowledge in an active way and while using critical thinking. It gives also gives them the opportunity to meet professionals of the field.
Learning outcomes

At the end of this learning unit, the student is able to :

1 identify and exploit the rich multi and interdisciplinary potential of the Egyptological field of study
 
2 develop and master an in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of specific themes seen in class
 
3 understand the challenges of modern Egyptology, the importance of an open scientifique debate and reflect critically on various aspects of Egyptological research
 
Content
This course is designed to provide students with an overview of the various facets of the Egyptologist's profession, and offers an interactive component, notably through scientific presentations and testimonials from guest professionals, discussion tables and/or practical workshops. Content is adapted from year to year.

Assessment: active participation in class (30%) and oral exam based on written preparation at the end of the course (70%)
