Teaching methods
The teaching method is based on the principles of the flipped classroom. Theoretical content (slides, reading assignement and exercises, e.g., case analysis, experiential exercise) will be made available on Moodle. Critical elaboration sessions, exercises and debates will be organised during the course sessions.
The course includes an in-depth case conceptualisation, including a tutorial session and the completion of compulsory activities. These activities are designed so that students can benefit from feedback from a teaching assistant during the tutorial session.

Evaluation methods
January session
Assessment consists of continuous assessment with 2 compulsory assessment activities and an in-session written examination.
The final mark will only be awarded if the student has completed all 2 compulsory continuous assessment activities and the semester written examination; the student will be considered absent if he/she has not completed the 2 compulsory continuous assessment activities and the semester written examination within the specified deadlines (see Moodle).
Successful completion of compulsory continuous assessment activities 1 and 2 and the written examination is essential to demonstrate the skills and knowledge defined in the learning outcomes for the unit. Consequently, the assessment of this course unit is based on the principle of the "absorbing grade", which implies that the successful completion of continuous assessment activities 1 and 2 and the written examination is required to pass the unit.If a failure is recorded in either of the components of the assessment, the student will receive a failing grade for the entire course unit. In this case, the final grade will correspond to the lowest mark obtained in Mandatory Continuous Assessment Activity 1, Activity 2, and/or the written examination, converted to a mark out of 20 and rounded down to the nearest whole number, where applicable.

Successful completion of each part of the individual written assignment and the written examination is essential to demonstrate the skills and knowledge defined in the learning outcomes for the unit. - Continuous assessment will consist of the following 2 compulsory assessment activities, which must comply with the content and deadline guidelines available on Moodle:
- Compulsory activity 1: part 1 of the individual written work on the vignette assigned, powerpoint in preparation for the practical session and presentation during the practical session (worth 10 % of the final mark).
- Compulsory activity 2: complete individual written work on the vignette assigned (worth 30 % of the mark) assessing the following skills: conceptualising a case, proposing a treatment plan, articulating this case conceptualisation on the basis of critical reasoning and ethical reflection.
- The in-session written examination (worth 60% of the final mark) will consist of a series of open-ended questions that will require you to integrate all the material you have seen in the slides, the required readings, the critical elaboration sessions, the exercises and debates. These questions are designed to assess your acquisition of knowledge, your ability to apply it reflectively to a specific case or cases, and your critical thinking skills.

- The individual written assignment is a case conceptualisation and treatment plan (worth 40% of the final mark), focusing on a different vignette to that assigned for the January session, and following the content and deadline guidelines available on Moodle.
- The in-session written examination (worth 60% of the final mark) will consist of a series of open-ended questions which will require you to integrate all the material you have seen in the annotated slides, the compulsory readings, the critical elaboration sessions, the exercises and debates. These questions are designed to assess your acquisition of knowledge, your ability to apply it reflectively to a specific case or cases and your critical thinking skills.
In the event of successfully completing both the written assignment and the written examination, the final grade corresponds to the sum of the weighted scores. Mathematical rounding is applied.
The final mark will only be awarded if the student has submitted the complete individual written work by the deadline (see Moodle) and has presented the written exam in session. The course is given in French and the standard exam is a written exam in French. However, international students taking this course:
- Will be allowed to use a dictionary when taking the written exam in French
- Are provided with the opportunity to take the written exam in English : yes
