Basics of animal biology; basic training in literature searches
Main themes
- Fundamentals of ethology: the ethological approach, mechanisms, development, functions and evolution of behaviour; domestication.
- Behaviour of the main domesticated species: behavioural repertoires, communication, social behaviour and behavioural needs.
- Veterinary ethology and animal welfare: applications of ethology to veterinary medicine, human–animal interactions and the assessment of animal welfare.
- Scientific research and literature: literature review, critical analysis and use of scientific sources.
